Nodular fasciitis

Clinical features

Nodular fasciitis is a benign, usually self-limiting myofibroblastic proliferation with a predilection for the upper extremities, trunk, and head and neck of young adults. It usually arises within subcutaneous tissues, but may also occur within skeletal muscle and, rarely, in the dermis or as an intravascular process. It has been reported to occur rarely as an intra-articular lesion.
