Pleomorphic myxoid liposarcoma

This category has been proposed as a high-grade variant of myxoid liposarcoma in children and adolescents.

Histopathology

The tumour consists of variable proportions of morphologically typical myxoid liposarcoma and pleomorphic liposarcoma. Giant pleomorphic lipoblasts are a feature.

Prognosis

Local recurrences and metastases are common. The tumour is commonly fatal.
